Cat eating from a plate

How to make a cat pancake day treat

Keep it simple with this recipe that your cat will love. Just three ingredients and no baking or cooking required!

You will need

  • 1 tin of tuna in water with no salt added
  • 1/2 cup finely diced cooked chicken
  • 1/2 cup pure sweet potato puree – make sure this is just sweet potato and doesn’t contain any sweeteners

Note: Treats should be given occasionally and alongside a well-balanced diet. These treats aren’t suitable for cats with special dietary requirements.

Method

Step one: Open the tin of tuna and drain
Step two: Pop in a mixing bowl and break it down with a fork into small bits
Step three: Add the diced chicken to the bowl and start to slowly stir in the sweet potato – you don’t want the mix to become too watery, so just mix it until it binds together
Step four: Scoop out the combined mix and shape into mini pancakes
Step five: Call your cat, if they’re not already salivating at your side, and serve up!

This can be kept in the fridge for up to two days after it’s been made.

The mixture can be frozen for up to three months – just pop it in the fridge to thaw when you want to use some more.
