‘Why I’ll be tackling the Sahara for Blue Cross’

Posted on 31 Jan 2013

Blue Cross supporter Chloe Hukin has signed up to take part in our Sahara trek to raise money for sick, injured and homeless pets. Follow her blog over the next few months as she gets ready for the big adventure…

On November 21, 2013, I’ll be starting my trek across the Sahara desert to raise money for Blue Cross, a charity that does amazing work helping abandoned, unwanted or sick animals.

As the subeditor for Your Cat magazine, I get to see first hand what a difference charities like Blue Cross make to animals in need, every single day.

So, as a massive animal lover, I decided I wanted to do my bit too, but I need your help!

I’m aiming to raise a minimum of £2,000, which has the potential to save so many animals’ lives and provide much-needed comfort for homeless cats and dogs.

On my five-day Sahara adventure I’ll be hiking through the desert for up to seven hours a day, camping between the dunes and trying to keep cool!

So if, like me, you love animals, please dig deep to support my trek - click here to donate.

And for updates on my training, how much I’ve raised and the people who have helped me along the way (including the rest of the Your Cat team!), keep an eye out in Your Cat magazine and here on the blog.
