When the Chips are down

Meet Chips. A very special dog who has pulled hard on our heartstrings.

Chips the boxer is a really lovely girl, which is remarkable when you consider her previous lifestyle.

Sadly, Chips has spent most of her one year and 11 months being kept in a cage.

Emma Pannell, Centre Manager at our Thirsk rehoming centre in Yorkshire, said: “As you can see from the photo, Chips has a facial deformity. She makes some rather peculiar vocalisations at times, too.

“She is a lost soul and desperately needs someone to love her for the quirky and unique character that she is.”

We’re now searching for a loving home for Chips, who is finding kennels quite a stressful place to be.

Because of her previous life experience, Chips may take a bit longer than most to fit into a home environment, but she would be worth the extra time and effort.

She is finding kennels is very stressful and we’d like to find her a loving home soon.

Emma added: “Chips’ snorts and sniffles are so appealing and when you give her treats you have to make sure you have dropped them into her funny-shaped mouth properly otherwise she has to scoop them up off the floor.

“There must be someone out there who will welcome Chips into their home and that can spoil her and accept her for the special dog that she is.”
