1897 Challenge Terms and Conditions

1. This promotion is open to all UK residents aged 18 or over who have launched a Tiltify fundraising campaign and signed up via the 1897 Challenge event. Those under the age of 18 can participate with consent from a parent or guardian.

2. This promotion will run from February 9th until April 8th 2024.

3. Participants who have signed up to the 1897 Challenge via the event on Tiltify, and choose to make an optional £20 donation during the sign-up process will be entitled to receive a special edition fundraising pack which will be shipped to them prior to the start of the fundraising period of the event on the 1st March 2024. The packs contain support materials for the use during a charity fundraising stream. They are limited in supply and no alternatives cash or otherwise will be provided for those making qualifying donations to their fundraisers once supplies have run out.

4. To receive one of our additional rewards packages after the promotion has ended, you must have signed up via the 1897 Challenge event on Tiltify and have created and published a fundraising campaign while the promotion was active. The total on the amount raised on your Tiltify fundraising page at 11.59am (GMT) on 8th April 2024 (excluding gift aid and offline donations as outlined in (5) below) will be used to determine which rewards package you qualify for. The thresholds for each package provided by Blue Cross are as follows:

(a) £45 and above – 1897 Challenge Medal
(b) £86 and above – 1897 Challenge Pin Badge Bundle and items from (a)
(c) £250 and above – Blue Cross Socks and items from (a) and (b)
(d) £500 and above – 1897 Challenge Hoody and items from (a), (b) and (c)

5. The amounts raised in (4) excludes Gift Aid and any offline donations except those which have been sent following the terms listed in (6).

6. For any offline donations to be counted towards your total, you must contact [email protected] and instructions and reference details will be provided so these donations can be paid in and linked to your fundraiser. Funds paid in via the Blue Cross website or any other means cannot be linked to your fundraiser and will not be counted towards your fundraising total for the purpose of the rewards packages outlined in (4).

7. Final rewards packages listed in (4) are made to order once the promotion comes to an end. This allows the charity to order exact quantities of each item and ensure as much of the money raised can go to supporting the cause. This means that there will be a 5-7 week wait after the promotion finishes until rewards will arrive with Blue Cross, ready to be sent to those who qualified for them as outlined in (4). We will endeavour to send all rewards as soon as possible once they arrive with us, this is provisionally expected to be the 20th May 2024. Participants who qualify for rewards will be contacted via email with updates about shipping and expected arrival dates and any delays once the event ends.

8. If you are under 18 and wish to participate in the promotion you must ensure you have a parent, guardian or legally responsible adult consent for you to do so before you sign up. This can be done by confirming your acceptance of these terms and conditions via the sign up form on Tiltify. 9. Illustrations of rewards can be viewed here. Please be aware these and images of rewards used in advertising are artists renditions and prototypes of products and final products may vary from what is shown. 

10. As part of your registration, Blue Cross will collect information about your t-shirt size. This information will only be processed for the purposes of sending you the correct sized hoody if you qualify for rewards (d) as mentioned in clause (4) above.

11. All rewards are non-exchangeable and no cash alternatives shall be offered. However, Blue Cross reserves the right to replace any of the prizes with an alternative of equal or higher value at Blue Cross’s discretion.

12. Blue Cross accepts no responsibility for rewards being lost, damaged or delayed in the post.

13. By accepting these Terms and Conditions when signing up to this promotion you have accepted these terms in full. Blue Cross reserves the right to refuse rewards to anyone in breach of these Terms and Conditions.

14. Insofar as is permitted by law, Blue Cross will not in any circumstances be responsible or liable to compensate, or accept any liability for, any damage or injury occurred as a result of completing your 1897 Challenge event, except where it is caused by the negligence of Blue Cross. Your statutory rights are not affected.

15. Blue Cross respects your privacy and will keep your information safe and secure and will only use it in accordance with our Privacy Policy. We will not sell, rent or share your personal data with other organisations for their marketing purposes. 16. Blue Cross may contact you for marketing purposes by post pursuant to our legitimate charitable interests, or by email if we have your permission to do so. 17. The Blue Cross 1897 Challenge Promotion, these Terms and Conditions, and any dispute or claim between the parties arising out of or in connection with it or its subject matter or formation (including non-contractual disputes or claims) shall be governed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales.

18.  Blue Cross reserves the right to make changes to these Terms and Conditions from time to time.
