Making a difference at Blue Cross

In 1897 a group of like-minded people came together to improve the lives of working horses. And from these small beginnings, grew the charity we know today. Whilst we’re proud of our roots, we’ve always been quick to adapt and innovate as the needs of pets and people change. This is more important today than it has ever been, as we strive to meet increasing demand for our services and the need for new skills.

We’re driven and committed to our goals, which is why maintaining financial stability is crucial - so we can continue supporting pets and people for as long as they need us. At Blue Cross, everyone carefully considers financial decisions and seeks new ways to generate income.

If you like the idea of thriving in a creative environment where empowerment, innovation and collaboration are key, then Blue Cross could be for you. Our people are hungry to learn and driven by a deep desire to make a difference every single day. And you’ll do that too – whether you’re directly caring for pets or part of our fantastic support teams, every person makes a difference.

Our six pillars

Our six pillars offer a deeper understanding of who we are, shaping the experience of everyone who joins our team. Each pillar reflects a key aspect of our culture, values, and the way we work together. Together, they create the foundation that makes Blue Cross a truly unique place to be.

I get to feel proud of the work that I do and the organisation I work for. I get a sense of satisfaction from knowing that in some way I'm helping people and their pets. I feel that I'm making a contribution to the organisation and, through that, to society.
