Elderly cat found dumped by side of road

An elderly cat who purrs so loudly that vets struggled to hear her heartbeat is being rehomed by Blue Cross after she was dumped by the side of the road.

The friendly 18-year-old, named Happy Panda by our team due to her black and white colourings, was spotted by passersby who alerted the police in Brixton, south London.

She had been left inside a cat carrier, which had been covered with a blanket with some food inside.

Happy Panda is looking for a new home

Police brought the cat into Blue Cross animal hospital in Victoria and after she was checked over she was transferred to our Cambridgeshire rehoming centre.

Clare Trippett, Centre Manager, said: "It must have been such a terrifying experience for her.

“She was super affectionate and the veterinary team struggled to hear her heartbeat over all of her purring.

"She's such a sweet-natured cat so we decided to call her Happy Panda due to her colouring. Hopefully it won't be too long before she finds a new home."
