National Veterinary Services

A Blue Cross charity shop

Thanks to an innovative partnership with our veterinary wholesaler, National Veterinary Services (NVS), we can now receive clothing from a client base of over 2,000 UK vet practices.  Since 2011, NVS has delivered clothing bags to its veterinary clients for practice staff and customers to pack full with unwanted clothing for our charity shop stock. Bags full of clothes to sell are regularly picked up by NVS and delivered to our Blue Cross sorting hub in Hartlebury.

In the five years since the scheme began, our collaboration with NVS has generated over 57,000 bags of clothing which has raised over £1m for Blue Cross through our charity shops and online sales. We recently celebrated this success by welcoming Peter Cronin, - Sales and Marketing Director of NVS, to our Banbury shop.

Peter Cronin, said: “It is a real honour working with Blue Cross and our veterinary practices to help hundreds of animals find homes and live the life that we would all want for them. Every bag of clothing donated makes a big difference and we are proud to be able to help.”
