We opened in 1990 and have facilities for 25 dogs, 21 cats, 14 rabbits and other small pets. We also have numerous paddocks and stables to care for up to 60 horses.
Our Rehoming Team is dedicated to finding the right pet for you. If you are interested in a pet on our website please complete a rehoming form in the first instance, you can find this on the pet’s profile page. So we can understand the type of pet you are looking for please do call us first if you would like to arrange a visit.
To see which pets are available on our website please visit our ‘rehome a pet’ page. You can see pets available at all our locations or narrow your search more locally. Our pages are updated regularly so please keep visiting them.
Please note that at our Burford centre, we run a closed cattery and kennels which means they are not open for public viewing.
Our Home Direct Scheme is for dogs, cats, horses, rabbits and other small pets whose owners can sadly no longer keep them but don’t need to find them a new home straight away. Pets stay in their existing home until a new owner is found for them. All pets go through our careful assessment and matching process.
Become a volunteer short term foster carer for pets at Blue Cross and help improve the welfare of the animals in our care. As a volunteer foster carer you will look after needy animals in your own home while they are recuperating from operations or illness, or young kittens or puppies until they are able to find a permanent new home. If you live within 45 minutes of the centre and are interested in this rewarding volunteer role, please email [email protected]
Buy our pets a treat or purchase something to help our centre be the best it can be.
There is now a new bus stop right outside the centre. The 233 service operates between Woodstock and Burford.
