Missy in Grimsby Animal Hospital

Little Missy in safe hands now

Little Missy found injured and afraid has new start thanks to Blue Cross

A six-year-old long haired Chihuahua found injured and afraid has made a full recovery and found a happy home. Missy was found in Grimsby with painful injuries to her eye, lacerations to her ears, a fractured rib, matted fur and overgrown claws. She was taken to the Blue Cross animal hospital on Nelson Street where vets thought she may have been hit by a car.

Sadly, her left eye was prolapsed and very painful so needed to be removed. She was cared for at the hospital for several days until she had fully recovered. Although microchipped and registered with an owner in Hull they did not respond to Blue Cross so Missy was taken to the Blue Cross Animal Rehoming Centre in Thirsk to start the journey of finding a loving new home.

She was placed into foster care with Jenny Day, Blue Cross Volunteer Co-ordinator and Animal Welfare Assistant and her Chihuahuas Freddi and Lily and foster kitten Raven.

Jenny said: “It was a pleasure to have Missy in my care while we searched for the perfect new home after her ordeal. She enjoyed having the company of my two dogs and her foster kitten playmate. We are delighted that she is in safe hands now in a loving home of her own.”
