New charity shop in Staffordshire appeals for goodies and volunteers to lend a paw

With Spring on the horizon now is the time for a good clear out. And the brand new Blue Cross charity shop in Heath Hayes is the ‘purr-fect’ place for your unwanted items.

The leading pet charity is also appealing for local animal lovers with time to spare to join their busy team at their newest shop in the Hawks Green District Centre. Volunteers can help with sorting and displaying stock, dressing the window and serving customers.

Chris Pollard, Blue Cross Shop Manager in Heath Hayes, said: “We are always in need of new stock to sell, so do think of us if you’re having a Spring clean because donations of clothes, books and household items are always welcome. We also hope to see lots of support with new volunteers joining our team. In return, we can offer a great way for people to gain some retail experience, meet lovely people and get involved in the local community. If you can regularly spare some time to get involved, do come and see us to find out more.”

Blue Cross receives no government funding, so relies on the support of the public and dedicated volunteers to continue its vital work. Money raised from items sold in the charity’s shops helps the thousands of animals cared for at Blue Cross rehoming centres and hospitals across the UK every year.
