Romeo and Juliet's quest for happiness

Nobody knows how Romeo and Juliet came to find each other, but their bond is unbreakable.

And we’re hoping that, unlike the star-crossed lovers they’re named after, they’ll go on to find a happy ever after in a loving home together.

The two cats were brought into another charity’s vet clinic after being found by each other’s sides as strays last month, and were soon in the care of Hertfordshire Blue Cross.

Since then, the team has enjoyed observing the pair’s special relationship.

Animal Welfare Assistant, Sarah Miller says: “They have the sweetest bond. They spend quite a lot of time together.

“I often see them sat together on the ledge of their pen looking out the window side by side.“

Romeo, a black and white cat, will often be found grooming tortoiseshell Juliet, says Sarah.

Though, she adds that chivalry does tend to go out of the window when food arrives as Romeo always wants to be the first in line.

They are inseparable, and we want to ensure that they remain together. But sadly, they have so far received little interest for being rehomed as a pair from potential families.

“We don’t understand it”, says Sarah. “They’re both super confident so we would expect them to make great family pets if they had a good, well-rounded home.”

Could you give Romeo and Juliet the loving home they so desperately need?
