Create your cat-friendly advent calendar this Christmas

A cat-friendly advent calendar is a fantastic way to recycle your toilet roll tubes while celebrating the festive season with your feline friends.

What you’ll need:

• 12 toilet roll tubes
• Scissors
• Paper
• Glue
• Tape
• Pens, paint and festive decorations of your choice
• A box (optional)

How to make your cat-friendly advent calendar

1. Cut 12 empty toilet roll tubes in half
2. Glue them together in the shape of a Christmas tree (two rows of two for the tree trunk, two rows of five, one row of four, one row of three, one row of two and, finally, one single toilet tube half at the top)
3. You can glue your Christmas tree in a box to give it more support
4. Get Christmassy and decorate your Christmas tree of toilet roll tubes. Remember not to use anything like glitter or sequins which your cat might accidently eat.
5. Number your toilet roll tubes one to 24
6. Once any decorations are dry, you can add a treat each day for your cat to find or give them.
