
Apple, carrot and chicken ice pops for dogs
Ice pops are a simple treat your dog will love, especially on a hot day.
During the warmer seasons, it's important to encourage your dog to hydrate. Our tasty DIY recipe can help your dog keep cool using just a few ingredients.
Note
As with all treats, remember to feed ice pops in moderation to your dog.
What you’ll need:
- One apple
- One carrot
- One chicken stock cube (a low salt stock cube is best. Make sure there is no onion or garlic powder in the stock cube)
- Four paper cups
- A measuring jug
How to make apple, carrot and chicken ice pops for your dog
- Place the chicken stock cube into a jug
- Add around 250 to 300ml of boiling water and mix
- Wash and slice your apple and remove the seeds. Remember to chop the apple into bite sized pieces to prevent choking.
- Add a few apple pieces to each of the paper cups
- Pour in the chicken stock
- Slice the carrot into four pieces lengthways
- Add one piece of carrot to each paper cup
- Freeze for three hours
- Peel your paper cup off
- Let your dog enjoy!
