If you need to find your horse a new home for any reason, we’re here to help.

We've been helping owners and their horses for many years and are established as the leading charity, offering responsive admissions, care and adoption support to help people and their horses nationwide. As well as centres at Burford in Oxfordshire and Rolleston in Staffordshire , we have a fantastic network of foster yards and a Home Direct scheme.

If you have a pony you’ve outgrown, a horse you were mis-sold, or you’re struggling to look after or afford your horse’s care, we offer support without judgement. We pride ourselves on treating each horse as an individual, with an experienced and dedicated team caring for and assessing them every step of the way.

Home Direct

Our Home Direct Scheme is an admission and adoption scheme that helps you find the right home for your horse.

People often feel judged when needing to find their horse a new home, and the reasons for rehoming can be wide reaching. We know how important it is to secure your horse’s future so we’re here to help, no matter the reason for rehoming. Home Direct brings a peace of mind and knowledge that you’ve done the best you can for your horse’s welfare.

If you're interested in using our Home Direct Scheme, we’ll meet you and your horse to talk through their needs. Once we’ve carried out a full assessment, your horse will be advertised on our website and matched to a suitable home.

Next Steps

  1. Make sure your horse’s passport and microchip are in your current name and address. We cannot proceed with rehoming your horse without this.
  2. Click the link below to fill out our Request to Rehome form. This must be filled out for each horse you are looking to rehome. Please fill out as much information as possible, as it will help our team understand your horse’s needs.
  3. If you’re unsure on how to fill out the form, or need some advice, you can contact us via email or phone.
  4. Once the form has been submitted, a member of our team will be in touch within 10 days.

If our Home Direct Scheme is not suitable for your horse, we may still be able to help with a range of admission services. So do get in touch with us via the form or email/phone.

Paid Crisis Livery

If you are in a difficult situation and need a temporary safe haven for your horse, we can offer crisis livery while you are unable to care for them.

This temporary livery could be from one of our centres at Burford, Oxfordshire or Rolleston, Staffordshire, or even at one of our nationwide foster yards. Livery space will be considered on a case-by-case basis and is available for a short term, agreed period. A livery cost will also be required.

Pet Peace of Mind

We know how important it is to plan ahead for your horse’s future. Our Pet Peace of Mind service provides reassurance that, should the worst happen, we’ll do everything we can to find your horse a loving new home.
