Going to a Blue Cross pet food bank

Blue Cross believes that nobody should have to choose between feeding themselves and feeding their pet. That’s why we provide pet food to owners across the country, helping ensure pets and owners can stay together during difficult times.

How to get pet food

You can access pet food from some of our Blue Cross sites or one of our partnered food organisations. Please use our map to find support near you or for more information please view our frequently asked questions below.

Am I eligible to get pet food?

Anyone can access pet food from some of our Blue Cross sites, but please ring beforehand to check we have stock. You can find contact details using this map.

Our partnered food organisations work independently so please contact them directly to find out if you meet their criteria. You may need a voucher or proof of need issued by a local authority or Citizens Advice. Some organisations, like larders and pantries, require a small fee for using their services. 

What kind of items do you stock?

We provide mainly wet and dry food for cats and dogs. As we rely entirely on donations we cannot guarantee we’ll always have stock, so please call ahead, to check before travelling.

Please note, if your pet has special dietary needs we will try to help but this is not always possible.

Occasionally we receive donations of pet bedding, small pet food and other non-food items so please check directly.

Can I make a donation?

We welcome donations of pet food to our pet food banks. You can drop off in-date and unopened pet food to partnered sites (please check opening hours beforehand), or call into any Pets at Home store and pop your item into our Blue Cross Donation Bin.

Blue Cross also works with independent food organisations through our partnership with Pets at Home. This provides pet food to pet owners through groups such as food banks, community fridges and pantries. Find a partnered food organisation.
