Note

Easter is an enjoyable time, but it can bring some hazards for your dog. It's important to make sure that any Easter dangers are kept out of reach while your dog enjoys their Easter hunt.

Your dog's Easter hunt

  1. Prepare your garden or room for the Easer hunt by making sure that the area is safe and has plenty of space for your dog to sniff out their Easter treats.
  2. Make sure your dog can't snoop and see you hiding their treats – you want it to be a surprise! This could mean taking them indoors, popping them in another room while you set up, or you asking them to sit and stay.
  3. Take your dog's favourite toys and treats and place their Easter surprises in different places around the garden or room. Just remember to only hide a small portion of treats to avoid an upset tummy – your dog's enjoyment will come from sniffing out the treats. If your dog hasn't played this game before, you could try starting with easy to find hiding places, before gradually making it more challenging.
  4. Once your Easter hunt is all set up, let your dog in and watch them as they get sniffing – remember, the only rules are to have fun!

If your dog enjoys sniffing out their Easter treats, you could also try scatter feeding to make their meal times more enjoyable.
