Blue Cross retail office Hartlebury

Location Details

Our Hartlebury office is where our retail office and warehouse is based. We sort through all the generous donations we receive from the public here that we sell in our charity shops and in our eBay store.

Donations

We rely on your kind donations to help vulnerable pets across the country. If you have any quality items that you would like to donate, we’d love to receive them.

We welcome donations of new and pre-loved clothes that we can resell to raise money for pets in need, as well as donations of other household items. We also accept donations of pet food for our Blue Cross pet food banks in the local area.

Donate pet food

No one should have to choose between feeding themselves and feeding their pet. Help us keep pets and people together by donating pet food today. Or find out how to access help for you and your pet.

  • Wet or dry pet food in unopened tins, pouches or packets, including special diets eg senior, puppy, kitten
  • Hay, straw and substrate for rabbits, guinea pigs and other small pets
  • Litter
  • Bedding (we don’t accept duvets)

We are so grateful for your generous donations. To help our teams, please donate pet food during our opening hours as it can attract wildlife if left outside our centre.

Sorry, but we’re unable to accept donations of the following:

  • Dry pet food that’s over three months past its best before date
  • Wet pet food that’s over three years past its best before date
  • Open packets of food or litter where the contents have been exposed to the air. Open boxes containing individual pouches or tins are accepted as long as the pouches or tins are unopened.
  • Food with damaged packaging, including dented tins, holes in sacks, grease spots on bags
  • Raw food
  • Food for humans
  • Food or items for horses

We’ve partnered with Kidderminster Foodbank and other nearby food banks. You may need a referral from a frontline professional, Citizens Advice, or a voucher to use our partners’ food banks. Blue Cross is unable to provide a referral.

Get in touch with the food bank directly for the types of pet food available.

Thanks to your generous donations, our charity shops brought in around £6.5 million to help sick, injured and homeless pets in 2024.
