Kittens abandoned in crisp box are safe now

Three six-week-old kittens who were found trapped inside a cardboard crisp box and dumped in the street are hoping their luck will change.

Thankfully, Skips, Pringle and Wotsit were found before any harm could come to them and were rushed to a nearby vet.

Helen Moore, Blue Cross County Durham Rehoming Network Volunteer, who is caring for the kittens said: “These cats have been through a traumatic experience. They were starving, covered in black dust and very cold when they were found cowering in the box of crisps, wrapped in a piece of cloth.

"I really am hoping for a rags-to-riches story for these little kittens. After the rough start they had, these kittens deserve a loving home.”

We have name the abandoned bunch after different types of crisps. All three kittens were very grubby and full of worms, but we have nursed them back to health and they will be ready to find forever homes in about three weeks.

Helen added: "They have been with me for around a week now and seem very happy, and would make excellent pets. All of them are affectionate and friendly animals despite their horrible experience."
