Abandoned puppies' happy ending
Seven puppies found dumped in a box on a cold and empty beach have spent their first Christmases in loving homes.
The littermates, named after Snow White’s seven dwarves – Dopey, Doc, Bashful, Happy, Grumpy, Sleepy and Sneezy – to coincide with the panto season, were found by a passer-by on Cleethorpes beach in Lincolnshire in September.
The black and white pups – two female and five male – were then taken to our nearby animal hospital in Grimsby for a full vet check, and although frightened and confused, they were all healthy.
At just six weeks old they were too young to go straight into new homes so were transferred to Blue Cross in Bromsgrove for all the care and socialisation they needed.
Stephie Lea Davidson, Veterinary Nurse at Blue Cross animal hospital in Grimsby said: “We were shocked when these adorable pups were brought in to us.
“Found all alone and extremely vulnerable, I dread to think what would have happened to them if left on the beach for much longer - especially with the tide potentially taking them out to sea. It is wonderful to know their journey has such a happy ending.”
