Blue Cross presents J A Wight Memorial Award to David Grant
Blue Cross has presented David Grant MBE with the J A Wight Memorial Award for his outstanding contribution to the welfare of companion animals.
The award, which is presented annually at the British Small Animal Veterinary Association Congress and sponsored by Blue Cross, is in memory of Alf Wight, the much loved author of the enduringly popular James Herriot novels.
The Hon Henrietta Roper-Curzon, Blue Cross Vice Chairman, presented David with his prize at a special event earlier this month.
David, a former President of the European Society for Veterinary Dermatology, was also one of the original members of the BVA Ethics and Welfare Group and spent many years at the RSPCA.
Pets have relied on Blue Cross since 1897 and our four hospitals and network of pet care clinics treat 30,000 sick and injured animals every year.
