Dodson & Horrell to feed Blue Cross homeless horses

Blue Cross is delighted that horse feed specialists Dodson & Horrell have committed to supply food for all our horses and ponies.

Sam Horrell, CEO at Dodson & Horrell visited Blue Cross to welcome the first delivery of feed. He said: “The work and dedication the Blue Cross team puts into helping neglected horses and ponies throughout the UK is remarkable, we are delighted to support the charity and are looking forward working with the Blue Cross team.”

We are really grateful to Dodson & Horrell for their generous support. Our charity was founded in 1897 to care for working horses on the streets of London and in 1900 we bought our first horse ambulance to be used in London to transport injured animals to hospital. Today, we help over 40,000 sick, injured and homeless pets.

Vicki Alford, Blue Cross Horse Unit Manager, explains: “Blue Cross helps hundreds of unwanted and neglected horses and ponies each year and our horse teams work hard day in and day out to help rehabilitate and rehome those that need our help. Our charity is totally reliant on public donations and we are extremely grateful to Dodson & Horrell for supplying our horses and ponies with the feed and supplements they need to help get them ready for new homes. It will make a huge difference to our teams, and the horses that need our help.”
