Fourth time lucky? Torbay puppy looking for his forever home

Blue Cross rehoming centre on Ashley Priors Lane in Torbay is asking dog lovers of Devon to find a place in their home for Labrador/Lurcher cross Milo as he waits patiently for his fourth and final family. 

Milo is only one-year-old but he’s already been bounced from house to house. After all the disruption in his short life, Milo is now looking for a nice, quiet home where he can finally settle happily.

Milo’s first owner bought him from a breeder but did not realise how big he was going to get. Milo quickly outgrew the small flat he was living in and was sadly sold online. Milo wasn’t at his second home for very long at all and quickly found himself being sold online for a second time. 

The family who bought Milo for the third time love him very much but their family circumstances have changed meaning Milo will not be able to receive all the attention he needs so Milo now needs another new home.

Milo is looking for understanding, patient and caring new owners who will respect the time Milo needs to get to know them. 

Jo Dempsey, Animal Welfare Assistant, Blue Cross Torbay, said: “Milo is a really lovely dog and would make a fabulous addition to any family with patience who will let Milo grow in confidence with them. 

“On his initial assessment, I let Milo come to me in his own time as he needed to build up his courage. After 15 minutes he came to me and smelt my hand and after 10 minutes he was comfortable enough for me to stroke him and wanted me to throw his ball. For the owner who can offer Milo this understanding, they’ll be thoroughly rewarded with a wonderful dog.”

Milo is a very sensitive soul and has had a lot to deal with in his short life time. He is looking for an owner who will understand his needs and let him take time to adjust to his new surroundings. He has lots of energy so loves having lots of long walks and especially loves play time. 

In his forever home he will need very patient owners who will ignore him at first until he feels confident enough to approach them and trust them. Milo is looking for a home with either older children or no children and could possibly live with a calm dog.

Blue Cross give full behavioural advice for free to Blue Cross pet owners and will offer continual behaviour support when required from its dedicated behaviour experts.
