Inseparable cats find loving home together

Hope and Joy bring exactly that to new owners' lives

Two cats found abandoned together over Christmas have found a loving new home where they remain inseparable.

The closely-bonded one-year-old sisters were found in a black pet carrier outside Blue Cross’s Victoria hospital in central London, on December 29.

Luckily the cats were found by our vets to be in good health and just needed worming and flea treatment before being microchipped and transferred to our rehoming centre in Burford, Oxfordshire.

The team were concerned they might take some time to be adopted as they were very nervous cats following their ordeal but happily, they soon found a new home where they could stay together.

New owners Sarah and Paul, who live in Swindon, says: “The girls have settled into their new home very well, they adore each other.

“Hope is the more confident one and loves a little fuss but it is very much on her terms. Joy is more timid and will sniff your hand but then back away.

“We still have lots of work to do but they have grown in confidence over the weeks. Hopefully we will get a cuddle soon.”

Jade Griffiths, Animal Welfare Assistant Lead at Blue Cross in Burford, says: “We’re so pleased we were able to find these two sweet girls a loving new home after they were left outside in the cold just days before the end of last year.

"We’d urge anyone who is struggling to care for an animal to contact us for help and advice as we know people’s circumstances can quickly change, especially with the rising cost of living.”
