Inseparable dad and daughter cats find new home

Doting feline dads don’t come much better than Harry.

He provides the perfect mix of love and fun for his daughter, Bean, who clearly idolises him.

The closely bonded pair arrived at our Hertfordshire rehoming centre after Bean’s mother started to reject both her and Harry, so the family made the decision to rehome them.

Harry and Bean have an incredible bond

One of a litter, Bean was kept by her original family and quickly became inseparable from her dad – with their energetic zoomies causing mayhem in their previous home.

“I normally work in the room next to them and there’s always a crash, bang and wallop. I go in to check what’s going on and it’s Harry and Bean playing, doing zoomies,” laughs Naomi Gosheron-Parr, Adoptions Coordinator.

“It is very rare for a father and daughter to be so bonded. It’s because they were indoor cats and Harry was always around. We were told that he would cuddle the kittens.

“Harry and Bean have an incredible bond. They allorub, where they scent mark each other. And they groom each other, play a lot together, and sleep together. They were in a foster home for a time and would sleep together on the windowsill.”

Separating the pair was never in question, but it was a month before they got a single application. Despite their loving and fun nature, finding adopters for pairs of cats can often be a challenge.

Naomi continues: “Harry is the more adventurous one and more outgoing than Bean. He’s the first to come and say 'hi'. But Bean is more playful and does like affection and a lap.”

Thankfully, dad and daughter are now enjoying life in a new home where they remain together.
