Help us face this hidden crisis

Blue Cross rehoming teams are under growing pressure. Your support means we can offer specialist care to kittens and other pets in need.

Rising vet bills, food costs and other pressures are making it harder than ever to provide the care pets and horses need.

So far this year, we've seen a 22% increase in pets coming through our doors1 in need of expert care and a loving, new home. Generous support from pet lovers like you will mean we can offer the support they need.

Behind every vulnerable kitten is a bigger crisis

We need your help. Low neutering rates, as well as the cost of living and higher vet bills, has contributed to an increasing number of kittens needing us.

In some cases, they require round-the-clock care, with our teams going above and beyond to give them the best possible start in life, before finding them loving, new homes.

So far this year, we’ve seen 1,774 cat admissions (Jan – May 2026)

33% more cats needing a new home compared to the same period last year (Jan-Mar 2026)

'Pocket rocket' kitten finds new home

Just 810 grammes – that’s all Atlas the kitten weighed when he came into Blue Cross's care.

Their story
Two small whippet dogs sit close together on a light grey couch, one tan with a red collar and one black‑and‑tan with a patterned collar. A person wearing glasses sits behind them, slightly out of focus, with a bookshelf visible in the background.

Saved from the brink

Three neglected puppies who arrived at our doors weak, bald, and terrified are now living life to the full.

Their story
Two domestic cats sit side by side on a carpeted hallway floor at the base of a staircase. One cat has black-and-white fur with a white chest and paws, while the other has short gray fur. Both cats are looking toward the camera, with a blue-gray carpeted staircase and white interior walls in the background.

The bravest 'brothers'

When two stray kittens met at Blue Cross, they instantly bonded. Our team found them the purrfect home together.
