Starving kitten rescued

A starving five-week-old old kitten found all alone in a hedge has been nursed back to health and will soon be looking for a new home.

Kitten Dale has recovered well and will soon look for a home.

The tiny moggy – who then weighed only the same as a small bag of sugar – has been named Dale by the team at our Cambridge rehoming centre, which has been caring for him for the past few weeks.

He was found by a dog walker who, having realised he was all alone, brought him into us.

Sarah Bates, Centre Manager at Blue Cross Cambridge, said: “Poor Dale must have been terrified, all alone without his mother to care for him.

“His finder said they had been aware of him for a few days on their walks and had seen many dogs chase poor Dale but he had got away and they were unable to capture him.

“When Dale arrived with us he was very underweight with his spine easily felt. His nose was all dirty and he had yellow stained paws.

“He was very shy, not eating or moving to start so we kept a very close eye on him and moved him into one of our foster homes.

“I’m happy to say Dale has really blossomed and is making progress every day. He’s now eating really well and learning how to play, rather than having to worry about where his next meal will come from.”

Dale will be cared for by Blue Cross until he is ready to go up for rehoming.

Sarah added: “He’s such a cutie, the whole team has fallen in love with him. I don’t think it will take us long to find him a loving forever home.”
