About me

Chewy is a sweet, affectionate little Chihuahua cross with a big personality and plenty of love to give.

At 7 years old, Chewy is the perfect mix of fun, character and companionship. He loves spending time with people, enjoys a fuss, and has a playful side that is guaranteed to make you smile. Whether he is playing with his favourite soft and squeaky toys, pottering in the garden, or heading out for a walk, Chewy likes to be involved in daily life.

Chewy may be small, but he still enjoys getting out and about. He would love a home where he can have regular walks, enrichment and gentle training to keep his clever little mind busy. He has more energy than you might expect from a little older chap, so he would suit adopters who enjoy being active but can also offer him calm time to settle and relax.

Chewy is generally a friendly boy with people. He may have a little bark when someone first arrives or approaches, but once he has had a moment to work things out, he is usually keen to say hello and enjoy some attention. He has experience of visiting children and could live with sensible children who understand how to give him space when he needs it.

Chewy has had positive experiences with other dogs, including a familiar visiting small dog, and could potentially live with a calm, confident and sociable dog following successful introductions. He can sometimes feel overwhelmed by unfamiliar dogs, especially in busy areas or if off-lead dogs rush up to him. Because of this, he would be happiest with adopters who can support him on quieter, more predictable walks and help him build confidence at his own pace.

Chewy is housetrained and has settled well in his foster home. He enjoys company and likes to be near his people, but has previously been left for short periods. His time alone should be built up gradually in his new home while he gets used to his new routine.

Chewy can be a little unsure walking in the dark and may prefer to stay close to home for night-time toilet trips. He has also shown an interest in chasing livestock, so he will need to stay on lead in unsecured areas and around wildlife or farm animals.

Chewy is looking for a loving home where he can enjoy gentle adventures, cosy companionship and continued confidence-building. In return, he will bring lots of affection, charm and little-dog sparkle.
