Blue Cross believes that no pet should go hungry and no owner should face the decision to give up their pet because they can’t afford to feed them.
We stock a range of pet food at several of our sites, and through 500 partner food banks.
Ways to donate
By donating, you can help pets whose owners have fallen on hard times and make sure they are fed while those who love them get them back on their feet.
Donate in a Pets at Home store
This July and August, you can donate financially in Pets at Home stores across the UK. You’ll also find Blue Cross pet food donation points in every store. Pet food collected in your local Pets at Home goes directly to food organisations who then share it with pet owners in your local community. And monetary donations will help buy pet food and supplies.
Donate to our pet food bank appeal
If you don’t have a Pets a Home store near you, you can donate online to our pet food bank appeal.

I used to go without food to make sure she was fed – she is number one and she’s a wonderful hot water bottle.
What to donate
Do you have any spare pet food? Can you find room in your weekly pet food shop for an extra can or pouch? Even a small contribution could make a big difference to a pet and their owner.
- Dog pet food – Dried biscuits, canned food
- Cat pet food – Kibble, wet cat food
- Small animal food – Dried food for rabbits, guinea pigs, mice and rats
How your generous donation helps
Since opening our first pet food bank and subsequently partnering with hundreds of food banks across the UK, we’ve helped feed those pets in desperate need.
Pets are fundamental to many of our families and our wellbeing. For some, temporary circumstances mean they can’t afford to feed their pet. We can step in to ensure no one has to make the devastating decision to feed themselves or their pet. Instead, we offer pet food so that they can cope in the short term.
