You are here:
Welcome to Cambridge rehoming centre which is based in Cambridgeshire. We always have cats looking for loving new homes.
We opened in 1935 and our modern facilities have space for approximately 50 cats and kittens.
Our Rehoming Team is dedicated to finding the right pet for you. If you are interested in a pet on our website please complete a rehoming form in the first instance, you can find this on the pet’s profile page. So we can understand the type of pet you are looking for please do call us first if you would like to arrange a visit.
To see which pets are available on our website please scroll down to choose a species or visit our ‘rehome a pet’ page. You can see pets available at all our locations or narrow your search more locally. Our pages are updated regularly so please keep visiting them.
You can bring your cat or dog into our Cambridge rehoming centre for free microchipping on the following days. It is a drop in service so no need to book!
Please bring your ID and proof of address - unfortunately we will not be able to microchip your pet without these documents.
11am to 1pm on the following Sundays, drop in no need to make an appointment.
Dogs must be under control and on a lead and cats need to be in carriers.
Cambridge Rehoming Centre offers a Home Direct scheme for dogs, cats, rabbits and other small pets whose owners can sadly no longer keep them but don’t need to find them a new home straight away. Pets stay in their existing home until a new owner is found for them. All pets go through our careful assessment and matching process, and only animals who fit our criteria can be accepted on to the scheme.
We only operate within a 25 mile radius of Cambridge and do not have kennels on site, therefore it is worth contacting other centres if you fall outside of the area or if you have a dog who needs to be rehomed urgently.
Please contact the centre if you need further details or would like to know if your pet is suitable for the scheme.
Become a volunteer short term foster carer for pets at Blue Cross and help improve the welfare of the animals in our care. As a volunteer foster carer you will look after needy animals in your own home while they are recuperating from operations or illness, or young kittens or puppies until they are able to find a permanent new home. If you live within 45 minutes of the centre and are interested in this rewarding volunteer role, please email [email protected].
